Blagojevich - A Reflection Of “We The People”

Published by truth2u at 3:59 pm under News, Ramblings Edit This

When I look at Blagojevich, I don’t see this mentally ill person who is so full of ego that he has visions of grandeur.  That’s scary for me because usually, I am a good judge of people.

Truth be told, the first time I saw Obama speak, which was the fourth debate with John McCain, my first reaction and the one I verbalized to people was that he was “too smooth” - I see some of that smoothness in Blagojevich.

He is facing up to 30 years in prison for the crimes he has, allegedly, committed, after being Governor of a major state.  He has recently been handcuffed and dragged off to court and instead of being concerned with it; his demeanor is just “smooth”.

He is smiling as reporters try to pin him down on some direct answers to a number of questions concerning his guilt.   Without giving a response to the questions that have been asked Blagojevich chooses to wish them Happy Holidays and waves like he is exiting a successful campaign rally giving the impression, through words, that things are going to come to light.

Does he have a hold card are there names to be named, situations to be exposed?  If not then could it really be that he has broken in his consciousness, his reality of the world and with his ego, enlarged with power, has really taken on a larger than life image of himself.  On top of his attitude, there is the refusal to just step down, step away from his role as Governor that is really alarming to me for some reason.

This enforces the idea that he is so full of himself that he has no concept of the wrong he has been accused of.  He has been taped being arrogant about the wrong he was doing in a voice that displayed arrogance, vulgarity, insensitivity, which shows him in a light of being just a straight, no class, lowlife, individual, but he is acting like this is normal behavior to have and that all of this will be straightened out.

Unless he has a hold card, some names or situations to expose, this is very odd behavior.  Odd behavior coming from a man who was considering running for the office of President of The United States of America; odd behavior for a man that was in the office of Governor of The State of Illinois.

He ran on almost the same theme as Obama – Change.  Change in the transparency of the party, change in the way we do business, change, change and more change.  Are we, as a people so complacent with being led, that we follow the words so intensely while the deeds are ignored.  That is, the deeds are ignored as long as they are not flaunted in our faces the way Blagojevich has done.

I feel cheapened as a person watching Blagojevich, I feel used and conned, I take his attitude personally yet, I had never heard of him before this scandal.  His attitude says something about the feelings he holds towards people in general, and
Illinois in particular.

That we were just a means to an end, collateral associations, the stairs he climbs to the top, the place he whips his feet on before entering his domain at his throne of power, issued by the people.  What a sad state of affairs.

My question becomes is it something wrong with us that we can allow a “Leader” like that in and re-elect them for a second term.  The attitude of both Blagojevich and Bush come from the same place inside their bodies.

We, as a people, or at least those that have been around Blagojevich and Bush, up close and personal, and who voted for them, allowed these people to have the power.  That says a lot about who we are and what our priorities are, to allow simple words, words that touch our needs, lead us into whatever, with eyes wide open and expectations great.

That says that anybody with the right words can easily be given the power and sometimes power corrupts the heart, mind and soul of a man who has watched corruption taking place, a man who may have been corrupt inside himself, all along, just waiting on the opportunity, the position of power to erupt his inner corruption.

That scares me!!!

And that’s the way I see it!!!
