Are We Headed For A Mini Ice Age

Published by truth2u at 8:04 am under News, Ramblings Edit This

With all that is happening here on earth it is hard to take an interest in heavenly phenomenon, however maybe it is time to take a second look.  A couple of years ago, during a study of the significance of the year 2012, I discovered information regarding our sun that I never knew.  I learned of the sunspot cycle.

Sunspot cycles progress over and eleven (11) year period.  The beginning of a sunspot cycle is the solar minimum, where there are few sunspots on the sun.  Within an eleven year period, sunspots increase in numbers as does the activity of the sunspots creating geomagnetic storms, solar radiation storms and radio blackouts here on earth.  This activity also to some degree since I have been watching and learning, has a strong influence on earth’s weather as well.

Sun Cycle 24 was scheduled to start earlier this year and while there have been a few Cycle 24 sunspots, the consensus is that Sunspots have all but vanished, and activity is suspiciously quiet.  Scientist are somewhat baffled as to the why stating “the last time this happened was 400 years ago” and that it signaled a solar event known as a “Maunder Minimum” which later became known as the “Little Ice Age”.

During the Little Ice Age, global temperatures dropped sharply.  New York
Harbor froze hard enough to allow people to walk from Manhattan to Staten Island and glaciers in Norway grew up to 100 meters a year.  While there are theories bouncing back and forth between scientists, who can never seem to agree on things, some say yes, some say no just on this subject of an impending “Ice Age”, there is another phenomenon that could add to this theory that we may be entering into another ice age and that is the winter solstice of 2012.

The winter solstice of 2012 is a time when the exact noonday sun exactly aligns with our Milky Way Galaxy’s dark rift.  According to John Major Jenkins, it will take 36 years for the sun to move through the Galactic equator or the dark rift of the Milky Way.   While no one is sure of how this will affect the earth, keep in mind that the sun is what brings us light as well as heat, so you have to ask yourself if the sun is in the dark rift, how much light will be able to shine on Earth?

Another phenomenon that we on earth will be experiencing is the fact that during this time in 2012, the earth will complete a natural precession caused by the earth’s wobble on it axis which takes place every 26,000 years and there will also be a rare astronomical alignment of the planets at the time of the 2012 winter solstice.

My question becomes is the lack of sunspots in Cycle 24 an indication of things to come in 2012?  Are we truly headed for a mini ice age?  What effect will this precession have on the way we view our world and our life on earth.  For more information, click on my name above “Other Writings”, to the right on this page and read an article I wrote on “The Mayan Civilization” or read all about the upcoming 2012 events at the following links.

After reading some of the information from these links, you decide; I  believe something significant is in the works for mankind and the lack of sunspots in this solar cycle is indicative of things to come, but hey, I could be wrong.

And that’s the way I see it.

P.S. Did not have time to proof this writing - hope it is understandable.

Very interesting topic, I like entertaining the possibilities :) I need to look through these links as well. But one thing that comes to mind is how does this align, or contradict, with global warming theories? Ice age, or North Pole meltdown? The polar bears could be counting on some form of ice relief as they lose their homes and population as we type…

science is never definitive - there are always shades of grey and areas of unknown that science can not explain. time is the only relative equation therefore, time makes everything clearer - meaning we just have to wait and see how this plays out.
