Getting To The Truth In Mumbai

Published by truth2u under News Edit This

In other developments on the war on terror, India has admitted to its share of responsibility in the attack on Mumbai.  The new Home Minister Palaniappan Chidambaram told reporters in Mumbai, “I would be less than truthful if I said there were no security lapses, these are being looked into.  We will address the cause that led to the lapses.”  Chidambaram took over the post of Home Minister on Sunday after his predecessor, Shivraj Patil, quit in the wake of the attacks.

Pakistan has condemned the assault, denied state involvement and vowed to help with the Indian probe – but it wants proof first.

In a city of tens of thousands, it is hard to believe that 10 armed gunmen could not be brought down in less than 40 hours, yet according to the one lone surviving terrorist, this act was, indeed, perpetrated by 10 terrorist.  Is he believable?

The violence in Mumbai which killed at least 171 people and destroyed historical property, according to Chidambaram, shows ample evidence that the source of the attacks were clearly linked to organizations which have, in the past, been identified as behind other terrorist in India.

The Mumbai rampage has threatened a four-year-old peace process between the nuclear-armed rivals put in place after a 2001 attack on parliament, blamed on LeT, which nearly set off a war.  Neither the Pakistani nation nor India wants war.

“God willing, that won’t happen” states acting Pakistani Interior Minister Rehman Malik yet, according to news sources, he has asked for proof instead of taking action to locate and eradicate the terrorist that everybody else in the world seems to know is operating from within Pakistan.  I for one can understand the rage that India must feel towards the Pakistani government.

On the other hand, India has arrested two (2) men in connection with the Mumbai rampage, which would indicate that this attack could be home grown.  One of the men had been arrested in February with hand-drawn sketches of hotels, the train terminal and other sites that were later attacked.  He has been brought back to Mumbai for renewed questioning.  The other man arrested is accused of buying SIM phone cards, with false identification, that were used by the attackers during the rampage.

While Pakistan may be upset because of the false accusations of the India people, accusations that the attackers came from within their borders, I say – get over it because until the Pakistani government, can admit the possibility it is harboring terrorist within their boarders, nothing will be done.

To live in denial is a terrible thing – the truth is the light and only light can provide adequate sight into darkness.  Open up your eyes and come out of your self-righteous, denial filled darkness Pakistan because until you do, things will never change.  Just because this particular incident may have come from within India, there is some house cleaning you need to do as well.  At least India is truly investigating what has happened and is admitting possible guilt in the terrible Mumbai incident.

And that’s the way I see it!!
