Revenge of the Wounded Deer

Published by truth2u at 8:01 am under News, Ramblings Edit This

On a lighter side, a deer got his revenge before dying at the hands of a hunter.  I’m sorry but for me this was hilarious.  A hunter, by the name of Randy Goodman from
Sedalia Mo., thought he had killed a deer after two well-placed shots with his .270-caliber rifle.  According to Goodman, the deer looked dead to him.  However, in an attack that was “15 seconds of hell” for Goodman, the deer came back to life, rose and attacked Goodman with his antlers.

After the attack, the deer ran away, Goodman fired two more shots and the deer died.  While he was a little shaken from the experience, he began to feel dizzy, and realized the deer had done some damage to him because he was soaked in his own blood.

Goodman was able to reach his truck and drive himself to the hospital where he received seven staples in his scalp, and was treated for a slight concussion and bruises.  I’m not sure whether he loaded the deer in the truck before he left for the hospital but I can just visualize the scene, in my mind, of the attack perpetrated by the deer and the look of surprise and maybe even a little fear on the face of Goodman when he realized the deer was coming after him.

WKRP is back in Cincinnati

WKRP, a fictional radio station TV sitcom of the 1970s starring, among others, Loni Anderson, Tim Reid and Howard Hesseman as Dr. Fever, a burnt out druggie stuck in the 1960s, is back on the air in Cincinnati, for real this time.

WBGC-TV changed its call letters to promote its new digital TV signal.  Elliot Block, the General Manager, thinks this will give the station recognition because people remember the TV sitcom.  I know I remember it because I got some laughs off of “Dr. Fever” and his burnt out state of mind.

Today in History

1967, Surgeons in Cape Town, South Africa performed the first human heart transplant on a 53-year old dentist by the name of Louis Washkansky who was given the heart of a 25-year old auto accident victim by the name of Denise Darvall.  The surgeon’s team was lead by Dr. Christiaan Barnard and although Washkansky developed an infection and died 18 days later, it was a modern marvel that has lead to greater discoveries for us all.

1947, “A Streetcar Named Desire” opened on Broadway.  The play was written by Tennessee Williams.  Over time and with the remake into a movie starring Malon Brando with his sexy essence, who was nominated as best male actor in a leading role, the play won 4 Oscars and had 11 additional wins of best music, best actress, BAFTA Film Award, Golden Globe Award and more, along with 14 nominations for other awards.

1979, The British rock group The Who performed in a live concert at the Cincinnati’s Riverfront Coliseum where 11 people were killed in a crush of fans; not too much different than the Wal-Mart incident recently where one guard was killed by aggressive shoppers with no heart.

Thought of the YEAR:  Teaching should be such that what is offered is perceived as a valuable gift and not as a hard duty. (Albert Einstein???)

Thought of the DAY:  If you are out to describe the truth, leave elegance to the tailor.  (Albert Einstein???)

And that’s the way I see it!!

HA! The deer story is great. I live in northern Minnesota and people here go a little off the deep end at deer season. Finally one got a shot back at the hunters. Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog, what you said is just what I was thinking yesterday when I wrote that entry. I am also trying to be more social. Thanks
